Objective

I have spent 13 rewarding years teaching middle school mathematics and coaching baseball and tennis in two outstanding schools and communities. I have been fortunate to work for exceptional administrators and have enjoyed the support of wonderful parents. I have also had the privilege of teaching a generation of inspired middle school students. I believe it is time for me to return to the reason I chose to enter the profession, and take on the challenges of an elementary position. It is my desire to make a difference at the fundamental level of education so that my students will be prepared for the rigors of secondary classes. I strongly believe this is my greatest talent, and I am looking for the right opportunity to grow as a professional and make new contributions to the GCISD family.

Lesson Plan Design

I believe in a hands-on approach that allows students to develop a conceptual understanding of the TEKS and NCTM standards. I consistently incorporate problem solving, games, creativity, and technology into my lessons, which are designed to allow students to learn and appreciate the inner beauty of mathematics. I also ensure that language objectives and ESL strategies are included in my lessons to promote essential vocabulary and fundamental skill development by all students.
